Inspiration
私の作品は、日本の四季が織りなす深遠な自然美と、何世紀にもわたって受け継がれてきた日本文化の精神性からインスピレーションを得ています。
春の桜の花びらが風に舞い散る様、夏の青々とした若葉が陽光に輝く瞬間、秋の紅葉が川面に映る静謐な美しさ、そして冬の雪景色が見せる清廉な静寂。これら四季折々の自然の表情は、私の作品の造形と色彩に深く刻み込まれています。
私の創作の核心には、日本の伝統職人が代々受け継いできた「手仕事の精神」があります。一つ一つ丁寧に時間をかけて作り上げる姿勢、そして完璧を目指しながらも自然の偶然性を受け入れる心構えは、私の陶芸における哲学の土台となっています。
神社や仏閣が醸し出す静寂な精神性は、深い落ち着きと神聖さをもたらします。 書道から学ぶ「余白の美」と「間」の概念は、空間の緊張感と調和をもたらします。 茶道の「侘び寂び」の思想は、完璧ではない美しさ、時間と共に変化する美、そして質素さの中にある深い豊かさをもたらします。
私の作品は、日本古来の美意識と、自然が織りなす繊細さと力強さ、移ろいゆく刹那の美を現代の生活空間に調和させることで、静寂でありながら生命力に満ち、シンプルでありながら深い精神性を宿した器を目指しています。
触れる人の心に安らぎと豊かさをもたらし、植物と共に時を刻む、そんな存在でありたいと願っています。
My work draws inspiration from the profound natural beauty woven by Japan's four seasons and the spirituality of Japanese culture inherited over centuries.
The dance of cherry blossoms scattering in spring winds, the radiant moment when lush green leaves shimmer in summer sunlight, the serene beauty of autumn foliage reflecting on river surfaces, and the pure stillness revealed by winter snowscapes. These seasonal expressions of nature are deeply etched into the forms and colors of my creations.
At the core of my craft lies the "spirit of handwork" passed down through generations of Japanese artisans. The dedication to creating each piece with care and time, and the mindset of pursuing perfection while embracing nature's serendipity—these form the foundation of my philosophy in pottery.
The tranquil spirituality emanating from shrines and temples brings profound calm and sanctity. The concepts of "beauty in negative space" and "Ma" learned from calligraphy create spatial tension and harmony. The philosophy of "Wabi-Sabi" from tea ceremony embraces imperfect beauty, beauty that evolves with time, and profound richness within simplicity.
My work seeks to harmonize the ancient Japanese aesthetic sensibility with nature's delicacy and strength, and the fleeting beauty of transient moments, into contemporary living spaces—creating vessels that are serene yet brimming with vitality, simple yet imbued with deep spirituality.
I aspire to be a presence that brings peace and richness to those who encounter my work, marking time alongside plants.
Roots
埼玉県南部に位置する、茶畑が広がる町で生まれ育ちました。家の前には小さな川が流れ、四季の移ろいと共に変化する自然の美しさに囲まれた環境で幼少期を過ごしました。 私の創作の原点は、家族から受け継いだ二つの大切な要素にあります。
一つは祖父から受け継いだ「職人の魂」です。祖父は仏具の漆塗り職人として、鎌倉の古刹に弟子を連れて修復作業に向かう姿を聞かされて育ちました。その話を通して、時を超えて受け継がれる手仕事の尊さと、伝統技術に込められた職人の心意気を学びました。
もう一つは、母から受け継いだ「植物への深い愛情」です。母は植物と花をこよなく愛し、庭に咲く季節の花を摘んでは、丁寧に花器に生ける姿を日常的に目にして育ちました。花と器が織りなす調和の美しさ、そして植物の生命力を最大限に活かす母の感性は、私の作品づくりの根幹を成しています。
川のせせらぎと共に過ごした幼少期の記憶、祖父の職人としての誇り、母の植物に対する慈しみの心。これらすべての経験が、今日の私の造形感覚、色彩の選択、そして質感への探求に深く影響を与えています。土と向き合い、植物のための器を創る時、私の中にはいつも故郷の自然と家族から受け継いだ美意識が息づいているのです。
I was born and raised in a town in southern Saitama Prefecture, where tea fields stretch across the landscape. I spent my childhood in an environment surrounded by the beauty of nature, with a small stream flowing in front of my home, ever-changing with the seasons.
The origins of my creative work lie in two precious elements inherited from my family.
One is the "craftsman's soul" passed down from my grandfather. My grandfather was a lacquer artisan specializing in Buddhist altar fittings, and I grew up hearing stories of him traveling with his apprentices to ancient temples in Kamakura for restoration work. Through these stories, I learned the nobility of handcraft that transcends time and the artisan's spirit embedded in traditional techniques.
The other is the "profound love for plants" inherited from my mother. My mother cherished plants and flowers deeply, and I grew up watching her carefully arrange seasonal blooms from our garden into vessels. The harmonious beauty woven between flowers and vessels, and my mother's sensitivity in bringing out the full vitality of plants, form the foundation of my creative work.
Childhood memories spent alongside the murmuring stream, my grandfather's pride as a craftsman, and my mother's tender affection for plants—all these experiences profoundly influence my sense of form, color choices, and pursuit of texture today. When I face clay and create vessels for plants, the natural beauty of my hometown and the aesthetic sensibility inherited from my family always live within me.
